No Monthly fees
Most likely you can hook it up to the internet to get the most up to date maps, but how up to date the map writing is still in question.
I do not know how long free updates would last.
If you wanted someting special like detailed mpas of good fishing spots on lakes, that would be a seperate purchase

Actually, no. You don’t have to pay $150 because the receiver is built into the car charger. You will have to pay about $60 a year, not monthly, for subscription.

really? is it easy to use? they have it at 117.00 at walmart right now, my dad has always wanted one of this, and since yestarday was my birhday i got enough money to buy it i was thinking of buying it for him.

Thanks Bill! I use two cameras. A Canon HV20 is my “A” cam and a Sony HC3 is the “B” cam. Sounds fancy, but really we just grab one of these and go. They are both HD consumer cams. I have an older “prosumer” cam that’s SD, but have opted to shoot all of our blog with these HD cams. The quality possible with these current generation consumer cameras is really impressive. The HV20 in particular has created a stir amongst many pros, as it delivers a LOT of camera for the money.
